I picked 51 cool names of the week this year—everything from Dixon to Delphine. And some of the most talked-about names—like Holly Madison's hippie Rainbow Aurora and the totally directional Kardashian-Kanye baby North West—didn't even make it into the cool name of the week list. So what are some of the most intriguing names of the year? You can read my picks for the buzziest names of 2013—and a look ahead at my forecast for the red-hot names of the near future. But what names caught my eye this year? Here are my top four:
FOR BOYS
There's a new, very buzzed about Pope—and he's sporting a fresh papal name, Francis. I'm expecting to see both Francis and the feminine Frances or Francine making big strides in popularity.
The royal baby may have had a tried-and-true name—George—but you can expect to see that name get a bump, at least in the UK, thanks to its current buzz.
FOR GIRLS
Mila was picked by Jenna Bush for her daughter (the granddaughter/great-granddaughter of two former U.S. Presidents). Add in popular actress Mila Kunis, and you have a recipe for a hot name.
Everly is destined for a popularity bump, thanks to hot couple Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum picking it for their daughter. (Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis also picked it, and two celebs have also picked the similar Ever for their kids.)
